THE 2007 RADIO GREATS WEEKEND!

In mid-July of 2007 at the studios of Press Broadcasting in Neptune, NJ they held an historic radio reunion of famous New York and New Jersey personalities and this is a 3 hour DVD of the whole thing!  Featured on the video is: WABC's Herb Oscar Anderson, WCBS-FM's Joe McCoy, Bob Shannon, Bobby Jay, Don K. Reed, Randy Davis, Mike Fitzgerald and on the phone; Bruce Morrow, Ron Lundy, Harry Harrison and Dan Ingram!  Others included from NJ are: Don Tandler, Captain Jack, Ed Salvas, and dozens more!   It was held at The Breeze, 107.1 & 99.7 FM at the Jersey Shore.  If you want to SEE a 10 minute preview of the 3 hour DVD...just go to www.youtube.com and type in my name, art vuolo.  It should be about 3 or 4 videos down the page.  It was an amazing event and a major memory-maker!!!

THE 2007 WLS REWIND RADIO EVENT!

Over the years since 1979, it has been my pleasure to archive, on video, some of the most incredible moments in radio history.  This was certainly one of the best.  My Sony 2100 3-chip digital camcorder was set up in the WLS main air studio from just after 8 a.m. until midnight on Monday, Memorial Day, May 28, 2007 capturing nearly 100% of the WLS REWIND!  For one day only, WLS News-Talk Radio 890 AM, turned back the hands of time to the late 60's, 70's and early 80's.  Station management gave the talk hosts the day off, and for 19 hours it was the return of WLS MUSICRADIO 89!  On this DVD you will see Tommy Edwards, Fred Winston, Chris Shebel, Catherine Johns, Lyle Dean, Les Grobstein, John Records Landecker and Tom Kent, plus several of the behind the scenes people who helped make it all a reality.  Heard, but not seen (because they were not actually in the studio) were: Larry Lujack, Jeff Davis, and newsman Gil Gross.  This is a MUST HAVE for all fans of the enormous, but not too gaudy 89.  Also, in our archive is the 1985 WLS 25th Anniversary Reunion celebrating a quarter century of WLS as The Rock of Chicago!  Plus, in 1997, we have the entire two-day WLS Alumni Reunion.  Both of these DVD's are truly amazing.  Enjoy the memories of one of America's most legendary radio stations...890 AM WLS!  See a special 10 minute preview on the web site www.wlsam.com

THE LAST GREAT DETROIT RADIO REUNION!

The Reunion was on September 24, 2005 and all 330+ who were there had an outstanding time.  You can view TONS of pictures by clicking onto REUNIONS or the picture of the name tag laminate on the home page.  Hurricane Rita prevented Bob Green and Michael Stevens from getting here from Houston.  CNN's Gary Baumgarten and FOX's Rob Milford were directed to cover the storm in Texas.  Country Dan Dixon was in a DC hospital.  Because of a plethora of reasons many good friends missed out on a great time....but for the several hundred who DID make the event, it was an affair to remember.  One of the major highlights was special guest Mrs. Nellie Knorr, former owner of WKNR Keener 13.  Sadly she passed away a year later in September of 2006.  DVD's and CD's are available on the REUNIONS page and they are the next best thing to having been there, and trust me the video is a real keeper.  If you have ANY connection to Detroit radio, you need to have this in your video library.  It was a slice of radio history!

NEW YORK CITY RADIO: 9-11

Unquestionably the best video I have ever produced.  Originally produced for the 2002 R&R Talk Radio Seminar in Washington, DC, this is a 13 minute mini- documentary on how key radio stations in New York City (and Washington) handled that horrible day on September 11, 2001.  All of the audio was taken directly from the stations.  No TV sound was incorporated into this video.  It is very powerful.  At the 2002 A.I.R. Awards in Manhattan, this video was shown, but stopped at the midway point because the audience was unable to handle the emotional content.  It even made headlines in David Hinckley's column in the New York Daily News!  Over a dozen major on and off-air broadcasters were interviewed and stations featured include: WOR, WABC, WCBS, 1010 WINS, WPLJ and WCBS-FM.  Copies of this video are on file at the Museum of TV and Radio in both Beverly Hills, CA and New York City.  It's available here in either VHS or DVD.

SUMMER 2007
PERSONAL HEALTH REPORT
Back on May 20, 2004, I was held captive at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI with an acute case of cellulites which caused my leg to swell up unbelievably, and had rendered me fairly useless.  I am doing much better now.  My legs have been less than perfect ever since but, I can't complain.  This was not nearly as serious as the blood clot in that same right leg in March 2003.  That could have been fatal.  What would have happened to all of my tapes?  I don't want to even think about that. Yikes!

In the summer of 2006 my trip to Pittsburgh was detoured with four days in The Cleveland Clinic, one of the nation's finest medical facilities.  It was a return of the cellulites which disabled me back in 2004.  That was just before the Fourth of July holiday.

My thanks to all that have called and included me in their prayers. Knee surgery in mid-November 2005 has left me moving considerably slower than my "normal pace" but, I'm dealing with it.

Most recently, my continuing problem with cellulites, a skin infection, put me in a Westchester County hospital for four days in Bronxville, NY in June of 2007.  It's not easy coming to terms over the fact that I'm no longer 21 years old.

Thanks always for your continued concern, good wishes and prayers...which DO work.

WINDY CITY AIRCHECKS
This is arguably the largest library of high quality un-scoped audio air checks from Chicago radio between 1973 and 1989.  After the untimely death of air check maven Tim Benko, in late December, 1998, his family wanted to make sure Tim's priceless collection had a good home, and I am proud to have this historic archive in my tape library.  If you are, or ever been, a fan of classic Chicago radio, a tape of your favorite jock(s) is probably in this collection!  You can obtain copies on CD from the master tapes by e-mailing me for only $6 each!
